Support Services
Living with M.E. can be isolating, especially if you’ve never met anyone else who understands what you’re going through. Our support services bring people together in a safe, understanding space where you don’t have to explain yourself. Sharing experiences, hearing others’ stories, and realising you’re not alone can bring comfort, reassurance and hope.
We aim to share practical information, gentle coping strategies and useful signposting, while creating space for connection, friendship and mutual support at a pace that works for everyone.
“Just being in a room where everyone already understood M.E. was a huge relief.”
““It helped me feel less isolated and reminded me that I’m not facing this on my own.””
“There’s no pressure — I can listen, speak, or just be there, and that makes all the difference.””
The Benefits of Support Services
Peer-to-peer Support (Online, Zoom)
Our monthly online peer-to-peer support sessions usually take place on the first Monday of each month. These informal sessions offer a relaxed space to chat about anything and everything, connect with others who understand, and occasionally hear from guest speakers on a range of relevant topics.
Hydrotherapy
We offer a monthly hydrotherapy session at Springfield Charitable Association. These sessions provide gentle movement in a warm, supportive environment and are suitable for people with M.E. Booking in advance is required, as spaces are limited to ensure comfort and accessibility.
Chair yoga (online, Zoom)
Our chair yoga sessions take place twice a month online and are delivered in a gentle, condition-aware way. Sessions focus on accessible movement, breathing and relaxation, with pacing and rest encouraged throughout to suit a range of energy levels.
In-person coffee and chats
Once a month, we host informal coffee and chat sessions in various locations. These relaxed meet-ups offer a chance to catch up face to face, connect with others, and spend time with volunteers and staff in a supportive, low-pressure setting.
Writing workshop
Our writing workshops offer a calm, supportive space for people with M.E. to explore writing at their own pace. Sessions are informal and flexible, with no pressure to share. The focus is on expression, reflection and connection, rather than writing ability or experience.
